Commission Art

How to commission an artwork

I love offering the opportunity to create a unique, custom-made pop art piece made exclusively for you. If you like an artwork from my collection that has been sold in the meantime and is no longer available or if you want to combine your own idea or inspiration with different elements from my artworks, then a custom artwork for your interior is for you.

Process and timescale

In an initial email contact, the scope of the artwork (size, style, color scheme, texture) will be determined. Please include one or more images from my earlier paintings that you resonate with. With all these details will be used to formulate you a quote.

During the process, there are updates and clients feedback is incorporated into the work. The timescale for the painting is between about 2-4 weeks depending on the workload.

Artworks are shipped worldwide via insured DHL Express in secure cardboard boxes to ensure safe delivery to your home.

Payment

A non-refundable deposit of 50% of the total amount will be taken to secure your artwork. After the commission is complete, the remaining 50% is requested upon dispatch.

If you are interested please get in touch and I will get back to you as soon as possible.

FAQs – Commissioning an Artwork by Kristin Kossi

How does the commission process work?

Once you share your vision with me — including your preferred subject, size, style, and budget — I’ll craft a tailored concept proposal and provide the commission price. When we’ve agreed on all the details, I’ll issue an invoice for the deposit, and from there, the creative journey begins.

2. Can I commission a piece in your signature style but with my own concept?

Absolutely. Many collectors come to me with personal stories, themes, or meaningful elements they’d like to see transformed into my bold pop-art style. The final result is always unique to you.

3. How long does a commission take?

This depends on size, complexity, and my current schedule. Most commissions take between 2–4 weeks from the time the deposit is received to completion.

4. How much does a commission cost?

Pricing depends on size, detail, and complexity. As a guide, commissions start from $4000 for smaller works. I’ll provide a detailed quote after our initial discussion.

5. Do you require a deposit?

Yes. A 50% non-refundable deposit secures your place in my schedule. The remaining balance is due upon completion, before shipping.

6. Will I see progress updates?

Yes. I’ll share key progress updates so you can see your artwork come to life. Small adjustments can be made along the way, but I encourage trusting my process to capture the energy and authenticity of the piece.

7. Can I request changes once the painting is finished?

Minor adjustments may be possible, but large changes after completion would incur additional costs. We’ll work closely in the planning stage to avoid this.

8. How is my commissioned artwork delivered?

Each piece is professionally packaged for safe transit and shipped via trusted art couriers worldwide. All artworks include a signed Certificate of Authenticity.

9. Do you offer framing?

Yes. I can arrange custom framing to suit the style of the artwork and your interior. Framing costs will be quoted separately.

10. What if I live internationally?

No problem. I free ship artworks to collectors worldwide, with full insurance and tracking. Customs duties or import taxes are the responsibility of the buyer.

11. Will my commissioned artwork be one-of-a-kind?

Yes. Each commission is a one-off original created exclusively for you. I do not reproduce commissions as prints unless we have agreed otherwise.

12. Can I gift a commission to someone?

Absolutely. Commissioned artworks make meaningful, unforgettable gifts. I can provide a personalised gift certificate for presentation.
