About the Artwork:

Consumerism confronts the symbolism we assign to fashion brands and the power they hold over perception, desire, and identity. The artwork poses a quiet yet provocative question: what meaning do we attach to brands, and why? In particular, it examines the cultural mythology surrounding luxury fashion and the way brand identity becomes intertwined with personal value.

This experimental monochromatic abstraction is built through unorthodox materials and heavy, tactile surfaces. Layers of plaster, acrylic, spray paint, oil stick, and plastic are pushed, disrupted, and embedded into the canvas, with a plastic bag becoming both material and metaphor — referencing packaging, excess, and the fragile boundary between desire and disposability.

The restrained palette strips away glamour, forcing focus onto texture, depth, and surface tension. What remains is not a polished image, but a raw exploration of form and presence. The work simultaneously honors and deconstructs the beauty of the Chanel brand, exposing its aesthetic language while questioning the systems of consumption and aspiration that surround it.

Consumerism is less about fashion itself and more about the psychology behind it. It reflects on ownership, status, and identity, inviting the viewer to consider whether meaning comes from the object — or from the stories we project onto it.

My work lives at the intersection of bold pop culture and personal reflection. Through layered textures, iconic characters, and unexpected juxtapositions, I explore the contradictions of modern life — glamour and grit, success and satire, chaos and clarity. Much of my work reimagines familiar faces — from cartoon legends to luxury icons — not to glorify them, but to question them, twist them, and ultimately make them my own. Characters like Mr. Monopoly, Bugs Bunny, or Homer Simpson become vessels to talk about ambition, abundance, and the absurdity of our times. It’s all pop — but it’s also deeply personal.

At the heart of it, I believe in art as transformation. I believe in creativity not just as a medium, but as a way of life — to shift perspective, to provoke thought, and to connect.
