This expressive painting captures a moment of quiet strength — a leopard resting gracefully on a tree branch, gazing into the distance. Painted in vibrant colours with bold, dripping layers of acrylic, the work radiates both rawness and beauty.

Created in the rural landscapes of the Western Cape, where I live and founded The Art Land Project to help protect the region’s wild species, this piece is deeply connected to its environment. The leopard symbolizes the rare and untamed spirit of the land — powerful yet serene, wild yet aware.

The artwork embodies the balance between freedom and fragility, serving as both a celebration of nature’s magnificence and a gentle reminder of its vulnerability.

For collectors, this piece represents more than art — it’s a tribute to the living wilderness of the Western Cape and the ongoing effort to preserve it.

My work lives at the intersection of bold pop culture and personal reflection. Through layered textures, iconic characters, and unexpected juxtapositions, I explore the contradictions of modern life — glamour and grit, success and satire, chaos and clarity. Much of my work reimagines familiar faces — from cartoon legends to luxury icons — not to glorify them, but to question them, twist them, and ultimately make them my own. Characters like Mr. Monopoly, Bugs Bunny, or Homer Simpson become vessels to talk about ambition, abundance, and the absurdity of our times. It’s all pop — but it’s also deeply personal.

At the heart of it, I believe in art as transformation. I believe in creativity not just as a medium, but as a way of life — to shift perspective, to provoke thought, and to connect.
