About the Artwork:
Minnie Success Soup is an original Pop Art painting by contemporary artist Kristin Kossi, bringing together Minnie Mouse, ambition and one of the most recognizable visual languages in Pop Art history.
Inspired by the legacy of Andy Warhol’s iconic soup can imagery, Kossi transforms the familiar format into her own playful “Success Soup.” Minnie Mouse takes center stage, turning an everyday consumer object into a witty symbol of ambition, optimism and the desire to create a successful life on your own terms.
The work plays with the language of advertising and consumer culture that has shaped Pop Art from its beginnings. Yet instead of selling soup, Minnie Success Soup offers something less tangible: the idea of success itself.
Minnie adds a distinctly feminine and lighthearted character to the composition. Confident and instantly recognizable, she turns the familiar Pop Art reference into a contemporary reflection on aspiration, self-belief and personal achievement.
Bright, playful and deliberately ironic, Minnie Success Soup connects the history of Pop Art with Kossi’s recurring exploration of success and self-determination — suggesting that perhaps there is no universal recipe for making it.
Success, after all, comes with your own ingredients.

My work explores freedom in its many forms through pop culture, ambition, nature and the choices that shape the way we live. In my Pop Art, familiar characters and cultural symbols become a language for exploring success, money, love, independence and the contradictions of contemporary life. Icons such as Scrooge McDuck, Mr. Monopoly, Bugs Bunny and Homer Simpson are removed from their familiar narratives and placed into new ones sometimes humorous, sometimes provocative, but always reflecting something about the world we live in and what we choose to value. Alongside this, my abstract work has evolved through a closer connection to nature. Living and working between wild landscapes in South Africa has shifted my perspective from the symbols of success toward something more elemental — land, time, movement, solitude and the freedom that comes from living closer to nature. What connects these seemingly different bodies of work is a continuing search for freedom. Freedom to succeed. Freedom to question. Freedom to change. And ultimately, freedom to live life on your own terms. I believe art can shift perspective. For me, creativity is not only a way of making images, but a way of understanding life — and continually redefining what truly matters.
