About the artwork:
Some landscapes are not meant to be seen all at once. They reveal themselves slowly.
What began as layers of colour and intuitive movement gradually transformed into a hidden world of forests, water, mountains and unexpected creatures. A wild cat watches silently from the undergrowth, a bird disappears into the canopy, while subtle forms continue to emerge the longer you look.
Created in my mountain studio in the Western Cape of South Africa, this painting reflects the experience of living surrounded by untouched wilderness. Long walks through the dense vegetation, hidden rivers and ancient trees have gradually found their way into my work. Rather than depicting a specific place, the painting captures the feeling of entering a landscape where nature quietly reveals itself over time.
Rich layers of acrylic and expressive oil stick marks invite us to slow down and discover something new with every encounter. The painting balances abstraction with suggestion, allowing each collector to form a personal connection with the imagery hidden beneath the surface.
The Quiet Jungle is a celebration of curiosity, freedom and the quiet beauty of the natural world—a reminder that some of life's most meaningful discoveries are never immediately visible.

My work lives at the intersection of bold pop culture and personal reflection. Through layered textures, iconic characters, and unexpected juxtapositions, I explore the contradictions of modern life — glamour and grit, success and satire, chaos and clarity. Much of my work reimagines familiar faces — from cartoon legends to luxury icons — not to glorify them, but to question them, twist them, and ultimately make them my own. Characters like Mr. Monopoly, Bugs Bunny, or Homer Simpson become vessels to talk about ambition, abundance, and the absurdity of our times. It’s all pop — but it’s also deeply personal.
At the heart of it, I believe in art as transformation. I believe in creativity not just as a medium, but as a way of life — to shift perspective, to provoke thought, and to connect.
